Catherine M. Driscoll of Golden Drive, Winthrop passed away at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center in Revere on June 17, 2016. She was 89 years old. Born in Winthrop, she was the beloved daughter of the late Agnes (Clancy) and Michael Pidgeon. A resident of Winthrop for almost 30 years, she worked as a telephone operator for New England Telephone for many years. She loved to travel with her family, especially to Cape Cod and New Hampshire. She loved do to crossword puzzles and reading romance novels. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

She was the devoted wife of the late John J. Driscoll and the loving mother of Patricia DiLiuso and her late husband Paul of Winthrop, Regina Snyder and her husband Stephen of Weymouth and Abington, John J. Driscoll, Jr. and his wife Donna of Westbury, New York, Maureen Driscoll and her wife Kathryn Collins of Hyde Park and Cathleen Ham and her late husband Gary of Falmouth. Dear sister of the late William "Pidgie" Pidgeon. Cherished grandmother of Michael, Lauren, Steven, John, Andrew and Melissa. Also survived by one great grandaughter Riley.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow the mass in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
