Dear Paul, I wish I had the opportunity to get to know your father, as I can see what an amazing man he was from reading about his extraordinary life. His legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren now, and the examples he set are an inspiration for all who knew him, or wish they had. My name is David Previte, I am the son of: Hank Previte. I am writing this at his direction. I would like to offer my sincerest and heart felt condolences on the loss of your loved one. I would be remiss if I didn't apologize for not attending the services. must explain. Lou Maglio held a most special place in my heart. He was a true inspiration in my life. I was not able emotionally to attend but will visit the grave on my own and have a heart felt talk. Whether you are aware or not, I have many times told Lou what he meant to me and the influence he held. He was involved in my life for over 70 years and was my mentor. He was a surrogate father, friend, counsel and most of all, someone who took an interest in me all of my life. If it were not for his steadying hand and guidance I would not have achieved much in life. It was his leadership and gentle persuasion that encouraged me in in my social work career. I hold him in the highest esteem and cannot begin to comprehend your loss when I know how I am affected.

My sincere sympathy and prayers to Colonel Maglio's family. It was an honor, a privilege, and a pleasure to have served with Lou in the Army Reserves. It was a time that I could say and have said many times that I was proud to be in the U.S. Army because of men like Colonel Maglio and he was our leader, our Commandant. Rest in peace and happiness.

Lou was a treasure in our community and a wonderful friend. I am proud to have lived on Winthrop's "street of flags"-- it was truly an honor to be his neighbor. I was always so happy when the Maglio's would return home from Florida, they made my life a happier place. Rest in Peace my dear friend, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for your service to our country.
