Mary L. Bacigalupo of Morton St., Winthrop passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on April 10, 2016. She was 84 years old. Born in East Boston, she was the beloved daughter of the late Elizabeth (Recchia) and Vincenzo Paolini. She grew up in East Boston on Cottage St. and was a graduate of East Boston High School. She has resided in Winthrop since 1946.

She was the devoted wife of George "Red" Bacigalupo and the loving mother of Carol Costello and her husband Pat of Winthrop, George Bacigalupo and his wife Janine of North Reading, James Bacigalupo and his wife Diana of Winthrop, Mary DeStefano of New Hampshire and John Bacigalupo of Winthrop. Dear sister of Frank Paolini of Westminster. Cherished grandmother of Michael, Matthew, Kristen, Laura, Bridget, Keith, James, Daniel, Elizabeth, Mark, Stephanie, Brooke and Emily. Also survived by 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow the mass in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery.
