The Donahue Family,

As I am just this minute hearing of your loss, I am saddened that I did not get to pay my proper respect to Mr. Donahue. I have some great memories of Mr. D. from my teenage years, a very stern man but, also very funny. I remember he loved his vanilla ice cream & his buddy Toby.

Please accept my sincerest condolences & may God Bless You All at this most difficult time.

Even though I used to be on the other side of the law I have to say I respected doug. How can you not respect such a dedicated and caring family man. The world has lost a good man and heaven is a little better today.

Loved your Dad and your Mom. You are very fortunate to have shared your triumphs and trials together as a family. Due to the fact
that we are in Sanibel, traveling with
our youngest son and his family; we will be
unable to share with you in person what your family means to us in our beloved community of Winthrop. Thank you for being in our lives. Be good to one another and remember the happy times. So sorry that we cannot be with you in person to share our memories of "Doug". Love and Christ's Peace, Barbara and Ed Survilas and family.💝💝💝

Dear Bobby & Family

My deepest and most heartfelt condolences on the loss of your Dad Doug. A great Man and Charlestown Townie.

I first had the pleasure of meeting Doug when I worked in Boston City Hall. Since I lived in Charlestown and was active in many community activities Doug and I would talk frequently. We talked about Charlestown, ongoing neighborhood events, family and law enforcement. We talked about my former job working at Charles St with you Bobby and more. Doug had a great smile and laugh, and he seemed tough but with an easygoing demeanor. A great police officer and guy.

I am sorry for your loss and may Doug resy in peace.
