James E. McDonald of Winthrop passed away at the Eatpointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chelsea of July 8, 2015 after a prolonged illness. He was 52 years old. Born in Winthrop he was the beloved son of Catherine (McMann) and Joseph McDonald. A lifelong resident of Winthrop, he was a graduate of Winthrop High School. He was employed for many years as a painter and was a member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks.

He was the loving father of Mary McDonald of Nashua, New Hampshire, Catherine McDonald and Jamie McDonald both of Manchester, New Hampshire. He was the beloved brother of John McDonald, of Winthrop, Robert McDonald of Connecticut, Thomas McDonald of Nashua, New Hampshire and Joseph McDonald of Winthrop.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 7:00 PM the same evening.
