Michael R. Cappiello, Esq., of Boston, MA,  Bourne, MA and West Palm Beach, FL, died on August  28, 2016 at his home in Boston, MA.  He was 99.  

Born May 2, 1917 in New Haven, CN, he was the fourth of six children of Francisco and Teresa Cappiello. Michael Cappiello served in the Army in Military Intelligence during WWII.  He graduated from Union College in Schenectady, NY in 1939.  In 1949 he graduated from Suffolk University Law School and had a successful career in tax law after having worked for the IRS in Washington, D.C. and Boston.   

Mr. Cappiello was a past President of the Lion's Club, a member of the Hundred Club of MA and the Don Orione Society, and a lifetime member of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company.   He was a donor of numerous charities, his favorite being the Multiple Sclerosis Society due to his wife's long term illness with MS.  He was also grateful for the opportunities education afforded him and gave back by providing scholarships to Union College and Suffolk University Law School.  He also donated a classroom to Suffolk University Law School in honor of his wife, Roberta.  

Mr. Cappiello traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and So. America, meeting dignitaries from John F. Kennedy. and George H. W. Bush to Pope John Paul II.  
 
He is survived by his three children, Robert Cappiello of Palm Beach, FL, Carol Couture and husband, Robert of Andover, MA and Susan Cappiello of Santa Barbara, CA; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, his sister and many nieces and nephews.  He also leaves his dedicated health care provider of 2 1/2 years, Doreen Powell, LPN, of West Palm Beach, FL.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at St. Cecilia's Church, 18 Belvidere St., Boston, MA from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will take place the at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the National MS Society, P.O.
